Setting Up Drip Sequences
Drip sequences are automated email workflows that send a series of messages over time without any manual effort.
What is a drip sequence?
A drip sequence is a series of pre-written emails that are sent on a schedule after a trigger event. For example, when a new lead signs up, they automatically receive:
- Day 0 — Welcome email with an introduction to your services
- Day 3 — Email highlighting trending projects in their area
- Day 7 — Social proof email with client testimonials
- Day 14 — Call-to-action to book a consultation
Creating a sequence
- Go to Admin > Email > Action Plans
- Click New Action Plan
- Name your sequence (e.g., "New Lead Welcome Series")
- Set the trigger (e.g., "Contact added to CRM" or "Contact tagged as Investor")
- Add steps, each with a delay and an email template
Step configuration
Each step in the sequence includes:
- Delay — Wait 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, etc. after the previous step
- Email template — Select or create the email to send
- Conditions — Optional conditions (e.g., only send if the contact has not booked an appointment)
Keep your drip sequences between 4-8 emails. Shorter sequences feel like a quick conversation. Longer sequences risk unsubscribes.
Managing active sequences
Contacts currently in a sequence are shown in the Action Plans dashboard. You can:
- Pause a contact within a sequence
- Remove a contact from a sequence
- View which step each contact is on
- See delivery and engagement stats per step
